// CEREFORM® IMPLANTS
CEREFORM® breast implants are made of a silicone elastomer shell, pre-filled with silicone gel. They are available in round (smooth or intermediate textured shell) and anatomical (in- termediate textured shell only) shapes and are manufactured with medical grade silicone.
Because of their technical properties, the shell offers great resistance to wear and tear and ensures maximum safety. A “ barrier layer” integrated in the shell limits perspiration of the silicone gel through the shell.
The CEREFORM® implants offer an intermediate texturation (between the micro and macro texturation).
The specific formulation of the silicone gel makes it feel similar to a natural breast. The cohe- sivity of the gel ensures the implant retains the shape and increases the safety of the product.
The implant filling method eliminates the risk of escaping silicone. There is no perforation to damage the integrity of the shell during manufacture of the implant.
The CEREFORM ® prosthesis is sterilised with ethylene oxide, following a validated cycle. It is supplied in double packaging to ensure an optimum microbiological barrier until implantation.
Each implant bear a unique identification number* engraved on the occlusion patch to allow perfect traceability.
* This number is mentionned on the adhesive labels that are included with each implant, one of these labels is placed on the patient card that will be given to you after your surgery.
QUALITY & SAFETY OF THE IMPLANT*
The CEREFORM ® prosthesis is manufactured and packaged under strict quality assurance. Implant design complies with all requirements in force for class III medical devices. That is why our breast implants have the CE* mark.
*To prove conformity of its products to the regulations in force,CEREPLAS is subjected annually to quality audits. These audits are carried out by the LNE/G-Med (French notified body, accreditation number 0459) appointed by the Ministry of Health and renowned for its rigorous methods.
Automation of our manufacturing process and the strict assessments* are carried out on each implant during the manufacturing process to ensure impeccable implant viability, purity and ability to consistently repeat the same quality of our implants.
* We have perfect control of our manufacturing process and raw materials and thus of the finished product. This has also been confirmed by more than 30 standard tests for biocompatibility and mechanical performance as well as physical, chemical and biological tests.

// WHAT IS THE LIFE SPAN OF A BREAST IMPLANT?
A breast implant should never be considered permanent. Its life span is limited by the pressures to which it is subjected each day (normal implant wear and tear). The life span of a mammary implant is estimated to be approximately 12 years. This is an average duration calculated all generation of implants combined (included older ones). As far as the latest generation of implants is concerned, this duration period will only be longer.
You should therefore expect to have your implants replaced at least once during the course of your life. The replacement of the implant, may also be performed for other reasons: larger volume, the phenomenon of ptosis (inevitably associated with the weight of the implant) or possible complications *. These are some of the potential situations you encounter during your life with breast implants.
* To detect any complication at the soonest, we recommend that you are followed up regularly by a specialist after insertion of a breast implant.
